Puerto Rico welcomes Miss World!
Puerto Rico welcomed Miss World with open arms at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve. Special guests included Mayor of Rio Grande, Honorable Ángel "Bori" Gonzalez Damudt, Miss World Sponsor, Crystal Rose Pierce, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve, Nereida Amador, reigning Miss World, Toni-Ann Singh, Miss World 1975, Lady Wilnelia Merced Forsyth, Miss World 2016, Stephanie del Valle, Miss World 2018, Vanessa Ponce de Leon, CEO and Chairman of Miss World, Julia Morley and the Miss World 2021 contestants. This event held an unforgettable surprise for the Miss World Organisation as the Mayor gifted Julia Morley with a key to the city. This generous gift represented the honour of welcoming Miss World to Rio Grande and was a beautiful gesture of recognition. The Miss World 2021 contestants were also given a welcome gift. Each country received a passport showcasing all the fun things to do in Puerto Rico during their visit.
The Sub Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, Maria López also said a few welcoming words to the contestants and expressed the incredible honour of the Hyatt Regency being home to Miss World for the next twenty eight days.
Other speeches came from Julia Morley, Miss World 2016, Stephanie del Valle, Miss World 2018, Vanessa Ponce de Leon and Miss World 1975, Lady Wilnelia Merced Forsyth expressed their gratitude and excitement for this year's competition to be held in Puerto Rico, also the home country for both Wilnelia and Stephanie. Sienna was among the six contestants selected to bring remarks.
