ROUND 1 - GROUP 1

ALIV HEAD TO HEAD CHALLENGE

ROUND 1 - GROUP 2

A series of preliminary competitions will be held in the coming weeks, leading up the grand finale on May 26 at Atlantis’ Imperial Ballroom on Paradise Island at 8 p.m. Scores from the preliminary competitions along with public votes will to determine the Top 5 finalists and eventually the new queen.  The scoring system is as follows:

TOP 4

To determine the Top 4, scores will be combined in the following categories: Judges Interview: 30%; Swimsuit: 25%; Evening Gown: 25%; Public vote: 20%. It’s important to note that the public vote in this round of competition is not cumulative.  The public is being treated as one judge, so the contestant with the highest number of votes will earn 10 points from the public, the second highest votes will earn 9 points, the third highest votes will earn 8 points, and so on.

ALIV HEAD TO HEAD PEOPLE’S CHOICE FAST TRACK

The public vote will serve a second purpose and that is to fast track one contestant to the Top 5.  MBO is introducing a new concept to achieve this.  In Round One of the ALIV Head to Head Challenge, the contestants are split into two groups of four and are interviewed by journalist Kyle Walkine.  The interviews will be featured in the first episode of Road to the Crown which airs on REV TV on Tuesday April 30 at 8 p.m.  The two contestants who receive the highest number of votes from each group will advance to Round Two of the Head to Head challenge which will air during the final episode of Road to the Crown on May 21.  The contestant who receives the highest number of votes in Round Two will be named the People’s Choice winner and will automatically advance to the Top 5 of the competition.

INSTANT SAVE VOTE

A sixth contestant will be given a chance to advance to the semifinals as a result of an Instant Save Vote on the night of the pageant.  The viewing public alone will determine who that lucky contestant will be by voting for the young lady they wish to see continue in the competition.   The contestant receiving the highest number of Instant Save votes will then complete the Top 6.

EQUAL FOOTING

It’s important to note that once the Top 6 are determined, all scores will be thrown out and the semifinalists begin competing again on equal footing.  They will be interviewed on stage by pageant host Jerome Sawyer, after which the judging panel and public votes will determine the Top 3.  The public vote in this round is not cumulative but is based on rank as the public is once again being treated as one judge.

FINAL QUESTION

The Top 3 will then face the final question.  The judging panel and public will then be asked to decide who their new queen will be, and in this round both the judges scores and the public vote will be based on rank, with the public being treated as one judge.  The contestant receiving the highest number of votes in this round will receive 10 points from the public, the second highest votes will get 9 points and the 3rd highest vote will get 8 points.  These points will be combined with the ranks voted by the judging panel - with winner receiving 10 points, 1st runner up receiving 9 points and 2nd runner up receiving 8 points - to determine the winner and runners up placements.
